Abstract

Swift heavy ion induced intermixing in Ti/Fe system has been studied using complementary techniques of conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence under standing wave condition. Ti/Fe/Ti tri-layer is embedded in a planar X-ray waveguide in order to take advantage of the higher resolution with which elemental depth profiling can be done in such structure. A clear evidence of asymmetric mixing at two interfaces of Fe layer has been obtained.
