Abstract

The paper describes the susceptibility evaluation of a commercial drone in a harsh electromagnetic (EM) environment. Through radiated susceptibility testing in a semi-anechoic chamber, it has been shown that the performance of the drone is degraded when exposed to an electric field (E field) in the frequency band of 1 GHz to 1.6 GHz. With the known E field levels and frequencies where degraded performance occurred, the necessary immunity measures can be implemented by shielding enhancement of the drone through coating of conductive layer on the internal surface of the drone shells.
