Abstract

Objective To know the sleep quality of patients with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and the influencing factors. Methods 96 patients who would undergo the time-selective PCI were surveyed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the scale for sleep factors. Results 61.46% and 87.08% of PC1 patients had sleep questions before and after the operation, respectively. The total scores of PSQI were (9.82 ±4.51 ) and ( 12. 11±3.99), respectively. The total score of PSQI and the scores of each index had statistical meanings with those of normal model in China. The total score of PSQI and the scores of each index before the operation had statistical meanings with those after the operation ( P < 0. 05 ). The major influencing factors before the operation included the operation anxiety, noise, ward strangeness, economic burden, and sickbed discomfort. The major influencing factors after the operation included the position discomfort, waist and back pain, noise, night ward rounds, therapy nursing and difficult urination. Conclusions PCI patients have poor quality of sleep, especially after the operation. It is suggested the active nursing measures should be adopted and each influencing factor should be controlled, thereby improving the quality of sleep. Key words: Percutaneous coronary intervention; Quality of sleep; Influencing factor; Nursing
