Abstract

CaseWe report on a 32-year-old male patient with a traumatic glenolabral articular disruption (GLAD) lesion with a grade 4 chondral defect who was treated with a knotless labral repair and an arthroscopic minced cartilage procedure. At 1-year follow-up the patient presented an unlimited shoulder function with full range of motion, pain relief and recovery of sport activity as well as a coverage of the chondral defect on MR arthrography. ConclusionThe minced cartilage and labral repair in a single-stage procedure shows promising results in the treatment of GLAD lesions of the glenohumeral joint. However, studies with larger cohorts and long-term follow-up are required to compare the mid- to long-term outcomes with alternative joint-preserving methods.
