Abstract

The association of cyanotic heart disease with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) may accentuate the hemorrhagic complications of cardiac surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass. A-5-year-old girl with Chronic Steroid Refractory Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) underwent successful intracardiac repair under normothermic cardiopulmonary bypass and warm blood potassium cardioplegia. Presurgery she received immunoglobulins and perioperatively she was administered inj methylprednisolone, inj aprotinin, platelets and fresh frozen plasma.
