Abstract

Abstract Defines structural units of the Subbetic zone north of Huescar, Spain. In order of probable superposition, these include, from bottom to top, the Virgen de la Cabeza unit (Dogger, Malm, lower Cretaceous), the Barranco de la Cueva del Agua unit (lower Liassic to Dogger), and the Moncayo-La Sagra unit (lower Liassic). The exact position of the Marmolance unit, with lower Priabonian (Jurassic) deposits at the base and upper Oligocene deposits at the top, is not known; at least it is known to be superposed on the Virgen de la Cabeza unit.
