Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a major issue in many industries as firms realise the importance of creating an integrating relationship with their suppliers and customers. The goal of SCM is to meet the needs of the final consumer by supplying the right product at the right place, time and price. During the 1990s, interest in SCM in agribusiness rose in Europe and the USA. The concept and its application have become one of the key areas of research and commercial focus in agribusiness for the past decade. In recent years, interest has spread out to include the potential and implications of SCM in developing countries. The aim of this paper is to examine the stages in the evolution of the logistics management to an electronic Supply Chain Management (e-SCM). This paper deals with the logistics practices of the Tunisian dairy sector companies and identifies if some of them are implementing SCM practices.
