Abstract

Extending preceding variational Monte Carlo calculations of the superconducting condensation energy in the d-wave superconductivity (SC) in the two-dimensional Hubbard model, we treat the lattices of up to 16×16 sites and obtain a good size-scaling fitting of the energy, allowing to get the condensation energy in the bulk limit in the case of on-site Coulomb energy (U = 8 and next nearest neighbor (n.n.) transfer energy t′ ∼ −0.1 (in units of n.n. transfer energy t). This value is in good agreement with experimental values for YBa2Cu3O7 obtained from H c and from specific heat. The corresponding t-J model is found to give the value larger than the experimental one by two orders of magnitude.
