Abstract

Aortic root dilatation (ARD) is a cardiovascular marker of adverse prognostic value. Its prevalence has been mostly investigated in population-based studies and selected hypertensive cohorts; however, there are few data reporting its presence or clinical significance in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate aortic root dimensions and its correlates in young black South African CKD patients.
