Abstract

The fracture of the anterior tibial tuberosity associated with a dislocation of the patellar tendon is rare. Only a few data exist on clinical evolution and quadriceps muscle recovery in the aftermath of this type of trauma. The few reported cases show a favorable functional development between 12 and 15months after surgery. However, we did not find a study evaluating quadriceps muscle recovery objectively by isokinetic method. We report a case of fracture-tearing of the anterior tibial tuberosity associated with a low displacement of the patellar tendon in a soccer player aged of 15years old at the time of the traumatism with follow-up of the clinical evolution and isokinetic quadricipital muscular recovery over 2years.
