Abstract

Sucrose synthetase and UDPG pyrophosphorylase were found in crude extracts of dark-grown triploid quaking aspen callus. The sucrose synthetase was like that from other plants, but it appeared to be membrane-bound. The activity also occurred in extracts prepared from callus of other tree species.
