Abstract

Introduction: Patients (pts) with ABP may benefit from early ERCP, EST and ductal decompression. Small calibre pancreatic stents are increasingly applied to prevent post-ERCP pancreatitis, might also be useful to facilitate pancreatic drainage and to reverse the acute pancreatitis induced by temporary papillary occlusion due to impacted stones. The aim of this pilot study was to access the effect of emergency ERCP and PD stenting on the clinical outcome of ABP pts.
