Abstract

An analysis is formulated for a driven subharmonic oscillator incorporating a nonlinear element with a hysteresis-type of current—voltage characteristic. For the general cose of the nth subharmonic it is shown how the dependent parameters of the circuit may be computed Once the independent parameters of driving voltage amplitude and direct bias are established. The operation of the subharmonic oscillator in its principal mode is investigated fully. Expressions for input and output power are derived and confirmed experimentally.
