Abstract

SSeventy-seven-year-old women observed conjunctival hyperemia, pruritus, and tearing of the left eye that started two days ago. A slit-lamp examination revealed a moving giant white worm in temporal conjunctiva and conjunctival redness. The parasite was identified as Dirofilaria. Conjunctivae spp. Repens. The patient received topical Moxiflocacin 4 times daily for seven days. Dirofilaria repens is a rare filarial parasite transmitted by different types of mosquitoes. Their ultimate hosts are mammals such as Caninae and Felidae.
