Abstract

Risk factors for post-colonoscopy colonic neoplasm have been reported to be the history of colonic neoplasm at the index colonoscopy and family history of colorectal cancer (CRC) in first degree relatives (1stDR). Advanced adenoma (adenoma more than 10mm or high-grade dysplasia (HGD) or villous adenoma) has been used as surrogate marker for risk evaluation of colorectal adenocarcinoma. The aim of this study was to determine risk factors for post-colonoscopy advanced adenoma (PCAA) to validate U. S. guideline published in 2012 for surveillance colonoscopy using Asian population and to estimate optimal interval of surveillance colonoscopy.
