Abstract

This paper takes Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport as the starting point and the decision-making problem of the transportation mode of residents with a reasonable population concentration was studied. Conducted surveys on residents' travel to understand the relevant conditions of residents' travel and determine the factors that affect the choice of residents' travel modes. Then the characteristics of residents' travel under the effect of population agglomeration were analyzed and the study found that traffic flow under the effect of population agglomeration had obvious temporal and spatial characteristics. The four factors that affect residents' travel modes were calibrated and multinomial logit (MNL) model parameters were calibrated based on the investigation. Finally, the model was tested according to the results of the model parameter calibration and the resident's survey data; the model could reveal residents’ travel decision-making rules of transportation modes and provided a theoretical basis for optimizing urban transportation organization.
