Abstract

In order to obtain the corona effect characteristics of high altitude AC transmission lines in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, it is necessary to establish long-term electromagnetic environment observation stations, carry out long-term testing and statistical analysis. However, the Qinghai Tibet Plateau is vast, sparsely populated and rugged. The traditional step-by-step tower survey is not only time- consuming but also dangerous. In this paper, a method is proposed to screen out the linear poles and towers in the open area through program judgment, then remove the unsuitable measuring points through artificial satellite map search, and finally determine the site of the observation station through field survey. In this way, two long-term observation stations for the electromagnetic environment of 750 kV high altitude AC transmission lines were finally established in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, obtaining a large amount of basic data, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent research on the electromagnetic environment of high altitude transmission lines.
