Abstract
ABSTRACT The performance of solar receiver tubes is improved by selective surface coatings extensively in almost all the solar applications. In this research, an experimental investigation was carried about characteristics of mid-temperature-selective surface black chromium-coated copper used as the selective surface of a solar receiver tube material. The comparisons will be done between the uncoated copper surface and black chromium-coated copper for absorptivity and emissivity with the temperature difference such as 100–400°C by both experimental and theoretical methods. The duration of exposure considered for this study was a weekly basis (7 days gap every Sunday considered), weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
