Abstract

This paper deals with the experiments about the basic performance of typical group of rotary type snow removal machines, which consist of one-stage blower type, two-stage blower tepe, and cutter type. The results obtained are as follows.(1) Integrating the tested results, semi-empirical formulas of engine power required for snow collecting work were obtained. Those formulas enables us to caliculate the engine power required within the wide scope of various conditions, such as snow depth, snow density, working speed, and number of revolutions of blower.(2) Empirical fomulas of engine power required for base-machine traction were as well given as simple function forms refer to working speed.(3) Ranges of snow-throw under various conditions were measured, and characteristics for different three types of these machines were discussed.
