Abstract

With the increase in what is known as the ‘silver wave’, the demand to improve the experience of New Silver Generation mobile content is also increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to provide the New Silver Generation with personalized, refined and convenient services within the mobile content context and to improve their confidence for integration into mobile network life. This study utilizes the Chinese New Silver Generation as subjects and aims to discover a program that effectively enhances their mobile app user experience. Multiple study methods, including document research, data analysis, multivariate research, in-depth interviews, and qualitative research are adopted in this study. By summarizing and researching, it was found that some in the New Silver Generation rely too much on mobile phones due to the excitement brought by the mobile internet world and the emotional loneliness of this group. However, this behavior will greatly influence their physical health. It is also demonstrated that they use WeChat most and that they mainly use the chatting, moment and lucky money functions, indicating that the New Silver Generation mainly uses mobile content to engage in social contact, obtain information and handle life services. Mobile content for New Silver Generation should be designed to be readable and with clearly contrasting layouts, colors, buttons and text to make the interface easy to understand and beautiful. As internet security worries the New Silver Generation the most, the nation, enterprises and individuals should work together to improve the internet environment. The study aims to eliminate the digital divide among the elderly, improve the mobile content application experience for the New Silver Generation and enlarge the market scale of mobile content so as to obtain economic benefits.
