Abstract

In recent years, motor generators have been required to further reduce size, light weight, higher output current and higher efficiency, due to strengthening exhaust gas regulation and new fuel efficiency standards in each country and to increasing number of on-vehicle electrical components. In order to increase the output current and reduce the noise of motor generators, we examined the increase in output current by improving the cooling performance of the field coil. It was clarified that by providing cooling holes in the main plate of the cooling fan, it is possible to achieve both increase in output current and reduction in noise.
