Abstract

Springback is a main defect of Tailor Rolled Blank(TRB) U-Channel in the course of longitudinal bending, and the bending springback performance of TRB can be affected by blank geometric parameters. The longitudinal bending performance of TRB U-Channel was studied through simulation and experiment in this paper. The springback distribution characteristics of TRB U-Channel during longitudinal bending were analyzed. The emphasis was put on discussing the influencing laws of TRB geometric parameters on springback. The research findings indicate that annealing can diminish springback of TRB, and make the springback distribution more uniform. Springback is in inverse proportion to thickness transition zone(TTZ) length and blank thickness, and is in proportion to blank size. As the ratio of the thinner side increases, springback of unannealed TRB increases, and springback of annealed TRB gradually decreases.
