Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the fragmentation similarity between small-size cylindrical projectiles and large-size projectiles. On the basis of the modified Payman fragmentation parameter Co, a new fragmentation parameter Cu and the projectile fragmentation similarity relation were derived. Fragmentation tests of large-size projectiles showed that the results of the number and mass distribution of natural fragments were consistent with the theoretical prediction results, which verified the correctness of the fragmentation similarity relation.
