Abstract

The ongoing examination aims to use nanoclay (NC) and Kevlar/Sisal as reinforcements in epoxy composites. Kevlar (K), an artificial fibre, and sisal(S), a natural fibre, were used as the synthetic and natural fibres as fiber reinforcements with fiber orientation as KSSK and Four distinct fillers weight percentages of NC, namely 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% are reinforced as particulate reinforcments in hybrid nano compoiste. NC by means of Ultrasonication in uniformly mixed with Epoxy with varying wt.% and the compoistes are fabricated by hand layup technique. The samples which were fabricated as per ASTM standards are tested with a universal testing equipment in order ro determine the tensile and flexural properties. In comparison to 0 wt% NC, the composites with 4 wt% NC showed 20% more strength and displayed exceptional tensile strength. At the same time, it was discovered that 2 wt% reinforcement provided improved flexural strength. Due to inadequate interfacial adhesion, increasing the filler fraction decreased the hardness and strength of composites. SEM was used to inspect materials with fractured surfaces.
