Abstract

This paper studies the fluid-dynamic behaviour of a fluidization gas distributor in the absence of particles. This work is divided into two complementary parts: a numeric simulation of the flow field generated by the distributor using a three-dimensional model and experimental measurements of velocity with a hot wire anemometer in a real scale model to validate the numerical results. The parametric analysis shows the influence of the pressure drop and open area percentage in the gas flow uniformity.
