Abstract

Global climate warming has become one of the main problems of the XXI century.
 Cultivation of crops is mainly affected by more frequent droughts, which have asignificant impact on yields. Therefore, it is important to select crops that are drought-resistant and adaptable to the new climate conditions. Safflower is one of the most perspective oilseeds for cultivation in the arid conditions of the dry-steppe zone. As a result, we have distinguished samples exceeding the standard variety Astrakhansky 747 by the number of grains in a basket - Alkyzyl and Talan; by seed weight per one anthode - Gila and Talan, Shakhalli 260; by the number of seeds per plant - Krasa Stupinskaya, Talan and Oker; by weight of seeds per plant - Talan, Alkyzyl, Tsambuli and Krasa Stupinskaya; by weight of 1000 grains - Shifo, Shahalli, Tsambuli, Shirkas and Alkyzyl; by yield - Lesaf 175-1, Gila, VIR 2933, Shirkas and Ahram.
