Abstract

Recent research has shown that students with disabilities are underrepresented in postsecondary life science education. See Logan E. Gin et al., Students with Disabilities in Life Science Undergraduate Research Experiences: Challenges and Opportunities, 21 CBE‐Life Sci. Educ. 2 (May 2022) (https://bit.ly/3G8IJzS). A May 2022 study surveyed over 1,200 undergraduate researchers to ascertain the percentage of students with disabilities participating in research in undergraduate science programs. Researchers found that roughly 12% of survey respondents identified as a student with disabilities.
