Abstract

Water must be sprayed on the screens to wash off the intermixed clay materials and the fines generated while crushing, so slurry were produced and should be treated to adapt to the requirement of clean production and sustainable development. Based on the slurry natures of the stone-crushing and sand-making process, we presented a novel process comprising hydro-cyclone separation, fines screening, clarification and filtration technologies to recover fine sands and clean the wastewater for recycle. The commercial system were established and run for 3 months. It shows that the +0.045mm fine sands and -0.045mm ultrafine clay materials in the slurry are separated and recovered respectively. Fine sands which was lost and wasted originally are recovered now. The ratio of the water cleaned and reused is up to 95%.
