Abstract

Eu2O3 doped Phosphate glasses were prepared by melt quenching method. The structural and optical characterizations were performed by XRD, UV, FTIR, Raman and Fluorescence studies. The X-Ray diffraction analysis confirmed the amorphous nature of samples. The fluorescence emission spectra of Eu2O3 doped glass showed the most intense band observed at 379nm due to the transition of 2G5–7F0. Gamma radiation studies suggested that the Eu2O3 doped phosphate glasses could be suitable for radiation shielding. The dielectric properties such as the dielectric constant, the dielectric loss, and AC conductivity of the Eu2O3 doped Phosphate glasses were studied in the different frequencies and temperatures.
