Abstract

Six species of Digenea are reported: ACANTHOCOLIPIDAE: tenuis sp. n. FELLODISTOMATIDAE: Tergestia clonacantha sp. n. CRYPTOGONIMIDAE: Paracryptogonimus hirastrictus sp. n.; P. saccatus sp. n.; P. sp., Mitotrema gen. n. (type M. anthostomatum sp. n.). The Acanthocolpus liodorus Liihe, 1906 of Nagaty and Abdel Aal (1962) is considered a synonym of Pseudolepidapedon balistis Manter, 1940. Paracryptogonimoides Nagaty and Abdel Aal, 1962 and Mahrosa Nagaty and Abdel Aal, 1962 are considered nomina nuda. Another change is: Paracryptogonimus leilae (Nagaty, 1957) comb. n. (syn. Metadena leilae Nagaty, 1957). Most of the fishes were secured from the fish market at Suva and examined in the laboratories of the Veterinary and Fisheries Division of the Department of Agriculture. The author is indebted to the personnel of that department and particularly to Dr. A. F. S. Ohman and Dr. K. J. Garnett for many kindnesses. The research was aided by the Research Council of the University of Nebraska and, in its final stages, by the National Science Foundation (Grant G-15940). Holotypes are deposited in the U. S. National Museum Helminthological Collection. The host name with an asterisk (*) is an identification made by Dr. Leonard P. Schultz of the U. S. National Museum. Measurements are in millimeters unless otherwise indicated. FAMILY ACANTHOCOLPIDAE tennis sp. n. (Figs. 1 to 4) Host: Unknown marine fish; voi voi; ribbonfish. Location: Intestine. Holotype and paratype: No. 59856. All except one of 14 specimens were so macerated that the anterior end was unsuitable Received for publication 18 September 1962. * Studies from the Department of Zoology and Physiology, University of Nebraska, No. 344. for study. The holotype (Fig. 1) was smaller than the others but contained a few eggs in the uterus. All specimens were evidently fully extended and subcylindrical. The holotype was 5.225 long, but another of more typical size was 7.258. Since proportions did not change materially, measurements for the holotype are
