Abstract
AbstractSynthesis of new types of bisoxacyanine dyes covering styryl‐, mero‐, and methine cyanines was achieved by interaction of 2,6‐dimethylbenzdioxazole 3,7‐bis‐ethyl iodide with active carbonyl components. These dyes showed high absorption spectral properties and were found to induce remarkable sensitisation effects when applied to silver halide emulsions.
