Students’ Perspectives towards Wasatiyyah Course: A Case Study in Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia
The Islamic concept of wasatiyyah is reflected in the Qur’an that states the Muslim community as ummatan wasatan. It means that Muslim should be in the middle path in many aspects of live, which avoid from the extremist and neglecting. In doing so, education plays a significant role to promote the concept of wasatiyyah. However, its neglected from the teaching and learning of Islamic education. This study aimed to explore the implementation of wasatiyyah course in Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia. The study conducted qualitatively with a case study research design in investigating students’ perspectives on the wasatiyyah course. A total of four participants from different faculties and countries are participated in this study. The data was collected through semi-structured interview and analyzed with the Miles and Huberman framework. Overall, the result of the study shows that student perceive positively towards the course of wasatiyyah Islam. In addition, the study also demonstrates students’ reflection on the practice of the concept wasatiyyah in plural context. Hence, it recommended reimaging the concept of wasatiyyah in Islamic universities by implementing the idea into course subject to promote the tolerance and harmony within the diversity

However, the concept itself has been neglected in the teaching and learning of Islamic higher education, which is an inseparable part of urban Muslim communities. This study is aimed to explore the implementation of the wasatiyyah course at Universitas Islam International Indonesia. The study was conducted qualitatively with a case study research design to investigate students’ perspectives on the wasatiyyah course. A total of four participants with different backgrounds of study, cultures, and religions participated in this study. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed with the Miles and Huberman framework. Overall, the result of the study shows that the students perceive positively towards the course of wasatiyyah Islam. In addition, the study also demonstrates students’ reflection on the practice of the concept of wasatiyyah in a plural context. Hence, it recommends reimagining the concept of wasatiyyah in Islamic universities by implementing the idea into the course subjects to promote tolerance and harmony within diversity.

Teacher resolution is a plan or movement of change carried out by teachers in the learning process in the classroom so that learning can run well. This study aims to identify what problems are faced by Islamic religious education teachers in Islamic Education learning in the era of the 5.0 industrial revolution and what causes obstacles or challenges in Islamic Education learning in the era of the 5.0 revolution, this study also aims to find out how teachers' resolutions are in facing the challenges of Islamic Education learning in the era of the 5.0 industrial revolution. The type of research in writing this thesis uses field research or case studies using observation, interview, and documentation data processing techniques and processing. The results of this study indicate that changes in the era can have a significant impact on the world of education, one of which is Islamic religious education learning. So that teacher resolution is very much needed and plays a very important role in overcoming teacher problems in Islamic Education learning. Thus it can be concluded that the Islamic Education teacher's resolution to the challenges of Islamic religious education learning in the era of the 5.0 industrial revolution at SMA Negeri 2 Kilo, Dompu Regency has been running well and has been well received by students by giving a positive response.

The underlying problem facing the teaching of Islamic education across Indonesia is the inadequacy and ineffective teaching and learning methods. The teaching of Islam in the institutions of higher education is still limited to conceptualization and memorization. However, the biggest challenge the country faces is the limited research about teaching and learning of Islamic education. Though the Qur’an and hadith are the main sources of Islamic education, there is no method which has been developed in regard to these two sources. In an effort to develop a method based on the Qur’an, this paper seeks to answer the question: (1) what and how is the method of Tadabbur Qur’an in the teaching of Islamic education? (2) what are the students’ views about the method of Tadabbur Qur’an?” Tadabbur Qur’an is regarded as an innovative teaching and learning method whose aim is to improve the condition of the teaching of Islamic education across Indonesia.

Islamic education learning has not yet been seen to have a significant impact. The teaching and learning process in Islamic education tends to be more theoretical and less relevant to everyday life. The implementation of religious teachings is often only symbolic and ritualistic. In the learning process activities, an approach to learning is needed to achieve the desired learning objectives. One of them is the life-based learning approach Living Values Education (LVE). This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic Religious Education learning based on life Living Values Education (LVE). The research method used is the Literature review method. Sources of information can be books, journals, e-books, or other scientific articles. The results of this study indicate that the application of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning that focuses on everyday life has a significant effect on the understanding and practice of religious teachings among students. The research findings indicate that students involved in Islamic Religious Education learning with a life approach experience progress in several aspects, such as: Increasing Understanding of Religious Concepts, Practice of Religious Values, Student Involvement in the learning process, and Character Development. Overall, this study emphasizes that PAI learning based on daily life not only improves students' academic understanding, but also strengthens the implementation of religious values and character development, which are very important in building a generation with good morals.

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether cooperative learning can maximize the effectiveness of webQuest used as a medium in teaching and learning in Islamic education. The present study also examined the perception of students towards WebQuest and cooperative learning method. Muslim students were selected from a rural school in Penang, Malaysia. Quantitative and qualitative approaches were used in this study. The results showed that WebQuest used in teaching and learning in Islamic education had positive impact on studentsâ?? learning'. However, cooperative learning method did not influence the studentsâ?? learning outcome. Nevertheless, students were interested in the medium of instruction used. Integration of ICT in class lesson in Islamic subject enables the creation of interactive and fun learning among students. Therefore, the application of WebQuest in lessons is suitable and should be applied by all teachers in their learning activities to increase studentsâ?? interest and performance in Islamic education.

This study aims to improve students' understanding ability in Islamic education learning by using the singing method. This study is a classroom action research that uses four steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were junior high school students. The data of this study were obtained by test and observation techniques. The test is used to measure the increase in students' understanding ability in Islamic education learning and observation is used to analyze the learning activities of teachers and students. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics by comparing the results obtained with indicators of research success. The results of the study indicate that the singing method can improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage of completeness of improving students' understanding ability in each cycle with details of the pre-cycle 45.56%, the first cycle 66.47% and in the second cycle it increased to 89.57%. Thus, the use of singing method can be used as an alternative to increase student activity in Islamic education learning in Islamic religious education learning.

The application of Albert Bandura's social learning theory in learning Islamic education has the aim to find out the concept of Albert Bandura's social learning theory at SD Negeri Jetis 2 Yogyakarta, the reality of the application of Albert Bnadura's social learning theory in learning Islamic religious education and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the application of Albert's social learning theory Bandura in learning Islamic religious education at SD Negeri Jetis 2 Yogyakarta. This type of research uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Sources obtained from the principal, Islamic Education teachers, parents, and students. In collecting data by means of observation, interviews and data analysis. The results of the study showed that the implementation of social learning theory from Albert Bandura in Islamic Education learning at SD Negeri Jetis 2 Yogyakarta went well with the concepts and principles of modeling (exemplary) with the use of media in the form of pictures and videos.

The teaching and learning (T&L) of Islamic Education which are comprised of theory and practical, often involves the use of teaching aids (TAs). In general, this article discusses the use of TAs among Smart School Islamic Education Teacher in T&L. This article aims to explore the types of TAs used by the Islamic Education Teacher (IET), the resources to obtain teaching aids, and IETs’ strategies to enhance their knowledge of the TAs. This pilot study uses case study design with in-depth interview instrument to accumulate data from IET, IETs’ colleague and IETs’ supervisor. Interview data are analyzed using NVivo software version 7.0 to develop themes and to set up matrix tables. The result shows that frequently-used teaching aids are realia for non-computer-based teaching and CDs for computer-based teaching. IETs’ main sources to obtain TAs are the school surau and the internet. IET increase their knowledge about TAs through the internet as well as attending courses. The implication of this study is that the applicability and accessibility aspects of the TAs should be emphasized among IET in order to optimize the application of the TAs.

Every religion especially Islam promotes the practices of environment sustainability in daily life. Islam, in particular emphasizes on the principles and etiquette of preserving and conserving the environment. The teaching and learning process of Islamic education in school is amongst the main medium to deliver the integral values of Islamic teachings on environment. The question is, how far teachers could measure the values that are being instilled to the students from the teaching and learning process. Therefore, a qualitative study has been carried out to explore teachers’ dimension of evaluation in environmental education across the teaching and learning of Islamic education in eco-school context. This study involves six informants among Islamic education teachers. Three dimensions of teachers’ evaluation have been identified as preliminary findings through the semi-structured interview. The outcome of this study highlights the strategies and challenges faced by the teachers which could either benefit the learning process or might require improvisation to strengthen the teaching process.

In general, the reality that with a Senior High School ll number of teachers and a large number of students is that it is unlikely that teachers will be able to provide maximum motivation to students. A large number of students, not comparable to the number of teachers, will usually have difficulty nurturing students with maximum motivation. The aim of this research is to look at students' intrinsic motivation, students' extrinsic motivation, supporting and inhibiting factors in learning Islamic religious education. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation with data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this research were obtained: i) the intrinsic motivation of students at Senior High School 2 Payakumbuh in learning Islamic religious education was obtained through the appreciation given by the teacher and the students' sense of responsibility. This award is motivation for students to develop and progress further in their learning process, ii) extrinsic motivation for Senior High School 2 Payakumbuh students is obtained from the motivation provided by teachers, principals, and all the environment in the school. Adequate infrastructure is one of the motivations for student learning in achieving goals, iii) supporting factors in increasing student learning motivation in learning Islamic religious education, namely students are given Islamic religious learning guidance, in the form of congregational prayers, tahfiz, reading the koran and delivering learning material. The inhibiting factor in increasing students' learning motivation in learning Islamic religious education is the lack of Islamic religious education lesson hours at school. Apart from the lack of teaching hours for Islamic religious education teachers, students who study religion are less aware of the importance of studying Islam. The results of this research can be used as initial data for future researchers in studying this problem in different contexts and issues.

The focuses of this research is on parents’ expectation of the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran. The subject is Islamic Education teachers and the parents of students in SDLB N Ungaran. The methods of data collections are observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis is inductive analysis. The result shows that the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran is generally almost the same with the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of general school. The difference is only in the psychological aspect. The majority of parents’ expectation of the teaching and learning Islamic Education is the same: in order the students can understand and apply the subject of Islamic Education in their everyday life so that they can become the righteous children. The factors that support the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran are the Islamic Education teachers’ patients and meticulous, cooperation between parents, teachers and the school, the extracurricular subjects which are suitable with the students’ talent and ability, and teachers’ creativity in teaching and learning. The factors that hinder the teaching and learning Islamic Education are inefficient and ineffective time (not suitable with the students with physical disabilities), using the same curriculum with the curriculum in the general school, the low quality teachers, and the lack of teaching and learning facilities.Â
