Abstract
A new prenylated dihydrochalcone ,gancaonin J and a homoisoflavone, gancaonin K, along with fourteen known compounds were isolated from the root of Glycyrrhiza pallidiflora Maxim. Structures of gancaonins J and K were elucidated on the basis of spectral evidence.Gancaonin K (I) and 2'-O-methyllicodione being isolated from the same material , the latter seems to be a biogenetical precursor of I. From the aerial parts of G. pallidiflora Maxim., two know phenolic compounds were isolated.
