Abstract

Results of research of structure, physical and mechanical properties and fracture patterns of the powder composites obtained by hot consolidation of aluminum, chrome and silicon powder mixtures are presented. It is shown, that strength and plasticity of the composites are defined by the properties of metal matrix being formed by joining of adjacent aluminum particles while of hot deformation processing. Threshold values of temperature and deformation degree which are needed to get the maximum strength and plasticity of powder composites are defined.
