Abstract
The title compound (3) has been synthesised and its molecular structure has been elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Refinement of the complex in space groupP21/c witha=11.535(4),b=9.831(2),c=25.217(1) and β=94.23(5)° converged atR=0.064. The geometry at the tin center in the anion is trigonal bipyramidal, with the thiocyanato N atom and a dithiolato S atom in the axial sites. The tetraethylammonium cation exhibtis normal geometry.
