Abstract

Stochastic molecular dynamics calculations were carried out on a nanocrystallite of cellulose triacetate (CTA). Moment statistics were used to assess the rigidity of the CTA surface layer. The implications of both static and dynamic structural features along with an assessment of CTA flexibility are described in terms of CTA's use as a stationary phase in chiral chromatography.
