Abstract

In order to clarify the limiting procedure from the lattice to continuum field theory, in this paper the strong-coupling expansion for anON-symmetric Euclidean field theory is analysed in the limit of largeN. First, by using a static ultralocal (SUL) model and introducing a lattice approximation of the field theory, the regularized expansions at largeg (high-temperature expansion) for the physical mass and charge have been obtained. Then it is shown that the application of Pade approximants to these expansions allows the construction of the strong-coupling expansion in the continuum limit.
