Abstract
ABSTRACTA new slim microstrip antenna with a narrow ground plane and dual-band operation for global positioning system (1575.42 MHz), Glonass-L1 (1600 MHz), long-term evaluation (1700 MHz), GSM (1800 MHz) and WLAN/near-field (2450 MHz) applications is presented. The antenna consists of a simple rectangular patch, a shorting pin and a meander-line (ML) which has a strip-like shape to be easily mounted inside the portable devices. The lower-band covers 1540–1850 MHz while the upper-band stands in 2.44–2.46 GHz.
