Abstract

We report experimental studies on the double-quantum resonance of a two-level spin system driven either by a phase-diffusing field or by a phase-jump field. Although the exciting fields have the same power spectrum, the detected nonlinear outputs (second-harmonic emitted signal) show quite different spectral densities in the two cases. Our results prove that the SH power spectrum is related to the two-time 2nd-order coherence function of the driving field in a zero-memory nonlinear system.
