Abstract

A dual configuration and PWM strategy of current source inverter (CSI) for a new driving system of an induction motor is presented in this paper. A single DC source is supplied to the dual inverter with sinusoidal output voltage and current. The phase-shifted PWM pattern is utilized for current control, taking the simplified equivalent circuit of the motor and system losses into consideration. Also, the PWM control regulates the output voltage of the inverter. The experimental results using the proposed dual current source inverter (DCSI) show the performance of the induction motor drive system.
