Abstract
In paper 8292P [Proc. IEE, 1979, 126, (5), pp. 421-425] by V. Subrahmanyam and D. Subbarayudu, the authors use the term 'state vector' for the current is defined by eqn. 1 of the paper. It is more correct to describe this term as a 'space vector'. The latter is properly related to the physical meaning of the term and is a direct translation of the Hungarian used originally by Kovacs and Racz1, and of the German used by Stepina. The term 'state', as used in state vector and state variable, has another precise mathematical meaning.
