Abstract
Included are the results of a questionnaire distributed by the Research and Development Committee of the Surveying and Mapping Division. The results showed few responses from educational institutions; private firms often lack funds for research; there is an increasing need for maps from detailed surveys of cities to solve ownership problems; and full use is not being made of modern surveying techniques.
