Abstract
This paper reviews all the correlational-explanatory quantitative research on international politics published in articles prior to 1970. Using content analysis and a Predictive Power Index it assesses 7,678 findings. The relative potency of different types of independent variables is delineated, the success of research in explaining different topics is examined, and an inventory of scientific findings is presented in propositional format.
