Abstract

The statistical characteristics of audible noise (AN) in fair weather beneath the Shiobara HVDC (high-voltage direct-current) test line are presented. The long-term measurements from 1982 to 1987 include a 4 cm*3.84 cm bipolar double-circuit test and 2 cm*3.84 cm, 4 cm*3.84 cm, and 6 cm*3.84 cm bipolar single-circuit tests. The influences of polarity arrangement, line configuration, and number of subconductors in a bundle on AN level are examined.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
