Abstract

AbstractSome state governmental agencies and some university based community development specialists have mutual interests that should stimulate cooperation. However, the potential level of service to state agencies by university based community development personnel is perceived as being relatively low. This paper reports the results of a recent survey that provides evidence that suggests areas wherein community development specialists may be of additional assistance to state agency personnel. Among the implications discussed are the possibilities for assistance at two levels-local and state. Other possible challenge areas include assistance to state agencies by community developers in policy/ planning and technical/programming.
