The school is a private professional college of art and design, part of the Museum-School corporation, the Art Institute of Chicago, located in the heart of the downtown Loop. Full-time-equivalent enrollment stands at 1,600, and there are 308 fulland part-time faculty. The operating budget is $19 million, and the school is currently engaged in a major capital campaign. The events in question have affected that campaign, and every other aspect of our existence.
