Abstract

AbstractThis paper outlines the way in which star ratings are awarded by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) for a care provider, whether it is a care home, nursing home or domiciliary care provider, before going on to set out how providers can appeal against a star rating and, more importantly, the business consequences of a low star rating and how to address that situation.
