Abstract

Mature cystic teratoma of the ovary is the most common ovarian tumor, accounting for 26.5-44% of all primary ovarian tumors. Malignant transformation in this type of neoplasm is rare, seen in 0.8-2% of cases, and is mostly represented by squamous carcinomas followed by adenocarcinomas. We describe a case of squamous cell carcinoma arising in an ovarian mature cystic teratoma.
