Abstract
The aim of the research is to identify sports and recreational disciplines of gymnastics. The research methods and organization involve analysis of literary sources, documentary materials and questionnaire. More than 100 literary sources in foreign languages were studied. Gymnastics coaches, lecturers and sport journalists were surveyed in 2019-2020. As for analysis of documentary materials, we got acquainted with the tournaments organized by national and international gymnastics federations. Within this scope educational programs of different universities were observed.
