Spontaneous rupture of giant hydatid cyst of lung into left bronchus: Preoperative diagnosis and treatment

Conclusion

Lung preserving surgery should be preferred in pulmonary hydatid cyst, to get satisfactory results. Identification and surgical removal of cyst will improve the symptoms. Anaphylactic shock due to rupture of cyst is a life threatening complication, which requires emergency treatment. Treatment with anti-helminthic drugs in the peri-operative phase will prevent recurrence of the disease
